Forums

Welcome to the Forum section of the website!

We want to make sure you have the best time at Liverpool University and this means it is important you have the opportunity to change things. We know you have opinions and ideas and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to share them with us. These 4 forums allow you to do just that. They are open to everyone; you can just turn up and suggest ideas that will make life at Liverpool better. If enough people in the room agree with you then it gets passed by the forum!

Say you think the shop should be open an hour later? Take it to Guild Life. Or maybe you wish there were more books available in the Library? University Life is the forum to bring it up. Not enough practice areas for dance groups? Speak to Societies Life- you can put forward your case for more rooms there. Or maybe you are thinking you want to do more for the local community- there will definitely be other students who want to get involved in Liverpool Life. For any ideas you have about your experiences, these forums are a chance to share them with other students and make a change in what the Guild does.
Whatever the issue, idea or proposal raise at the appropriate forum. It is your Life so have your say and make the change you want!

Click on the forums for more information about what has been passed and what is coming up at future meetings. You can also click on Student Council to see what happens to the ideas when they pass the forums.

Dinner will be provided at all the forums
Don’t forget to bring your student card as you will need it to vote.

Now it is up to you!

The first forums saw 130 students attend and 26 standing for election for Student Council. This was a great achievement and real recognition of the number of students who want to share their opinions and make changes to the Guild. So, now it is over to you. The forums are all about what you want to talk about so tell us what that is! Fill in the template and send it to emily.spurrell@liv.ac.uk at least a week before the next forum. It will then go on the website and will be taken to the next forums in November for debate.

Remember it is your Guild so be sure to tell us what would improve your time here.

Student Council

All decisions made at the Forums are passed onto Student Council who co-ordinate forum policy. The Council are elected at these forums with 4 representatives from each forum elected to attend Student Council.

For more information on how to stand or what is involved go to Student Council.

If you have any questions about the forums or want some advice about what forum to take your idea to contact the Representation and Democracy Co-ordinator on emily.spurrell@liv.ac.uk or 0151 7944139
