If you believe mitigating circumstances could affect your studies it is important to submit mitigating circumstances. These can include:
The University will require Independent documentary evidence, such as medical certificates, must be provided in all cases to verify mitigating circumstances. You will need to submit this alongside an Mitigating Circumstances form which can be found by clicking here to your departmental office (and ask for a receipt for your records). It is important to submit mitigating circumstances as soon as possible. The University policy states that claims should be submitted at least 1 week before the Board of Examiners meet however many departments will set their own deadline so make sure you check VITAL and your emails regularly. You should contact your academic department (particularly your Personal Tutor) for advice on the mitigating circumstances procedure. You can also use the Guild's Advice Service.
