Transfer, Withdrawal, Suspension

The LGoS Academic Adviser can offer advice on the University's procedures for withdrawal, suspension or transferral of studies.

Withdrawal

It is not an easy decision to withdraw from your University studies. It is important to seek as much advice, information and support as possible when considering to withdraw. You should speak with your personal tutor when considering to withdraw. Other services that may be of  use include:

You will need to complete a Withdrawal From and have this approved by your department. You should also write to your Local Authority and (if applicable) the Student Loans Company.

Transferring Course

You may consider transferring your course whilst at University. It's important to discuss this with your personal tutor before proceeding. You may also want to discuss how this could impact on your future career with The Careers Service. You cannot transfer courses without ensuring that you have a place on the course you wish to transfer to. Ensure that the transfer is confirmed with the future department when initiating this procedure.

You will need to complete at Transfer Between Taught Programmes Form . This should be approved by your current and future departments.

Suspending Of Studies

You may consider suspending your course during your studies due to financial, academic or personal reasons. It is important to seek support and advice before making this decision. For a full list of University Support Services click here. you will need to fill out a Suspension Of Studies Form.

Suspending your studies could have an impact on your finances or on your accommodation. For advice in this regard you should contact The Financial Support Team. For advice regarding private accommodation contact LSU Advice Centre.
