16. The Relationship between PGT and UG Curricula
16.1 It is essential that we increase our recruitment from UG to PG, both for the sake of the best students and so that the University can effect a shift in balance from UG to PG. The intention should therefore be to make sure there is an appropriate connection for every UG programmes with at least one Masters programme; and to ensure that there is not too much overlap in the curricula nor an unbridgeable gap.
16.2 It is proposed that UG and PGT programmes be reviewed to ensure that there is the minimum overlap of UG and PGT, that there are no gaps between the curricula and that they facilitate and encourage recruitment from our UG to our PGT degrees.
LGoS believes:
- There are no problems with this proposal; however we would like to remind the University that there will need to be a good deal of cooperation between the different programme leaders of each UG or PGT course for this proposal to be achieved. Perhaps it would be a good idea to have one member of staff with responsibility for both UG and PGT courses, that follow on from each other?
Has (or does) your undergraduate programme prepare(d) you for M-Level study?
Is there anything else you would like to add about this proposal?
